Videos For Your Parents To Watch

To those parents who kinda don't like the idea of their kids being Goth.

Hope these are helpful! As for me, I'm still waiting for the right timing to show my parents these, and I'm still thinking how, considering their close-minded and uber-religious nature.

Today's Song: "If I Only Were a Goth"

It's been around 3 years since I heard this song. Some of you bats may have listened to this song already, but to those who still haven't, this sure will make you chuckle and smile! :3

If I Only Were A Goth
ThouShaltNot

I'd be thinner, I'd be taller
Go clubbing in my collar,
With skin pale as a moth.
Dressed in black, I'd go creeping
While the normal folk are sleeping,
If I only were a goth.

With my hair up, I'd look fancy,
Like Siouxsie and the Banshees,
With silk or velvet cloth.
Dressed in boots, never sandals,
And the room would be lit with candles,
If I only were a goth.

Yes I'd want to die,
From the bottom of my heart impure.
Would I like another clove? Well, sure.
And after that we'll go listen to The Cure.

I'd pretend to be a vampire,
Like in stories 'round the campfire,
I'd suck your bloody froth.
Yes the thing I'd be best at
Is impersonating Lestat,
If I only were a goth.

In my casket purse I'm toutin',
Einsturzende Neubauten
And pagan hymns to Thoth.
Yes the world would be depressing,
Over death I'd be obsessing,
And this corpse that I'm undressing would be sexier I'm guessing.
With my diet I'd get scurvy,
And I'd worship Peter Murphy,
If I only were a goth.

Dark Lipstick

The Monday after my birthday, one of my classmates (I think she sells Avon products) showed me a lippie that was supposedly for her customer. Fortunately, the customer told her it's not the right color she ordered, so our classmate asked me if I was interested in it. And boy, the first time I saw the color, I sure squealed and screamed. I've been wishing for that for a long time now.

I ran to Jetherine and she gasped ecstatically and kept jumping with me. Without hesitations, we divided the price between the two of us, quickly took out our money, and bought it.

Mid-parted hair? O.o
Phone camera quality :/

Skeletal Hands Hair Clips
Jetherine surprised me one day with two miniature skeletal hands. Though I prefer them white, the hair clips sure are cute! Jetherine gave me the purple one. :3

Mister Donut
Jeth and I usually hang out at Mister Donut. It's where we have lunch and head to after classes while I wait for Michael. As we munch on donuts, brownies, and twists, we discuss freaky stuff -- horror and gory movies, Goth bands, torture devices, controversies on religions, mental disorders, death, the science of ghosts.. and we listen to Goth songs on my phone. We don't use my earphones because the volume isn't that audible especially when inside the store, so we use my phone's loudspeaker instead (but of course we tone it down). And Jeth and I speak in straight English while we talk. All this makes all the customers in the store smirk and look at us. Nah, all the looks they give us don't really matter as long as we're having a good time :D

Her Bloody Nail Art ♥
I totally dig Jeth's new nails. O.o I envy them!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TIM BURTON! ♥

Today's the 55th birthday of my favorite film director, film producer, writer, animator, and artist!

source

He's my inspiration, motivation, redemption, and escape from the harsh realities of life! I've watched almost all of his movies no matter how weird or senseless they could be. I love staring at his art works for hours and hours on end. My parents hate it when I watch some of his movies but I totally don't give a f*ck. His life story and works inspire me and bring out the best in me. My best friend  digs him too! HE'S AWESOOOOOOOOME.

Tim Burton Facts!

He has an interest in clowns, and his films will often include them or make reference to them.

Is a "Bollywood" fan.

Nearly everywhere he goes, he carries a pocket-size sketchbook and a small watercolor kit.

Usually dresses in black, because he doesn't like spending too much time matching colors.

He once said he never remembers his dreams, apart from five recurring dreams, one of them involving the girl he was in love with when he was a teenager and another involving his parents' bedroom.

Ranked #6 on Tropopkin's Top 25 Most Intriguing People [Issue #100].

Johnny Depp is a godfather of his son Billy Ray Burton.

Has his look-alike puppet in the French show "Les guignols de l'info".

He has a phobia of chimpanzees.

His childhood dream was to be in a monster costume wrecking Tokyo but since he couldn't be Godzilla he decided to be an animator.

Many of his films feature townspeople who misunderstand and/ordistrust the lead character.

Frequently features dead or dismembered dogs.

Plot often focuses around a misunderstood outcast.

At the end of Beetle Juice (1988), Beetlejuice metamorphoses into a bizarre creature with a merry-go-round on his head. On the top of this merry-go-round is a smiling skull which became Jack Skellington in The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993). The latter movie had been a pet project of Burton`s since his days as an animator at Disney.

Shares a birthday with Sean Connery.

Several of his films are based on drawings he made as a kid.

He directed a twisted ‘Hansel and Gretel’ for Disney.

Disney refused to release the original ‘Frankenweenie’.

He and his partner Helena Bonham Carter live in separate apartments.

He acted in films like ‘Singles’ and ‘Hoffa’.

He used to make short films in his backyard on Evergreen Street as a pre-teen.

He is an introspective person and was busy with painting, drawing and watching films.

His first big budget film is the Batman.

Tim Burton never really fit in with the crowd. He liked to hang out in his local graveyard.

He actually wrote to Vincent Price telling him he was a big fan and Vincent agreed to be the narrator of Tim Burton's first short. This sparked a relationship similar to the one displayed in Burton's "Ed Wood" between Ed Wood and Bela Lugosi.

He has directed two music videos: "Bones" and "Here With Me", both by American indie rock band The Killers.

Sophie Lancaster

I know this is one day late, but it doesn't matter. I don't wanna miss this chance.

The murder of Sophie Lancaster occurred in the United Kingdom in 2007. The victim, along with her boyfriend, Robert Maltby, was attacked by a number of males in their mid-teens while walking through Stubbylee Park in Bacup, Rossendale, in Lancashire. As a result of her severe head injuries she went into a coma, never regained consciousness, and died thirteen days later. The police said the attack may have been provoked by the couple's wearing gothic fashion and being members of the goth subculture.

Five teenage boys were later arrested and charged with murder. Two of them were convicted of murder and sentenced to life-imprisonment. The other three were convicted and jailed for grievous bodily harm. A memorial fund was established in Sophie's name, and numerous events have paid tribute to her locally, nationally and abroad. Plays, films, art and books have dealt with the issues surrounding the murder.

Sophie Lancaster (born 26 November 1986) was a former pupil at Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School, Haslingden High School and a gap year student planning to attend Accrington and Rossendale College to do an English degree. She had been dating Maltby, a 21-year-old art student at Manchester, for three years, and they both had a long-standing attachment to the goth subculture. The couple's family described them as "Goths", and said: "They're both intelligent, sensitive kids. They're not the sort of people to get in trouble, but they have had problems in the past because they stand out."

Lancaster's parents said of her after her death:

"We were proud to know our daughter. She was funny, kind, loving and brave. She was a beautiful girl with a social conscience and values which made her a joy to know. Not being able to see her blossom into her full potential or even to see her smile again is a tragedy beyond words."

Lancaster's mother said:
"The thing that makes me most angry is that it is seen as an isolated incident, maybe the seriousness of what happened to Sophie is isolated, but attacks are far from isolated. Just because you follow a different culture you are targeted; you are seen as easy pickings."

"This was a terrible case which has shocked and outraged all who have heard about it. At least wild animals, when they hunt in packs, have a legitimate reason for so doing, to obtain food. You have none and your behaviour on that night degrades humanity itself."

It may have been years since the murder, but the hate crime serves as a reminder to all of us: let's all stop judging and hating people just because of how they want to look like! :(

World Goth Day 2013 Part 2

Finally, Ian Roy is dressed! Though not that well, but hey, it's still impressive! By the way the camera quality again won't make you so happy.

Oops! Ian Roy's secret is revealed! He's not wearing any trousers! XD

For some reasons, Carren didn't want to have a picture of her taken.

We had tea and pizza for the celebration now. An unusual combo for a tea party but that doesn't matter! We had Addams Family to deliciously top up the meal!

Our celebration isn't much like the other Gothy parties for World Goth Day out there, but what's important is we were bloody happy even in such a simple and humble way ^w^

World Goth Day 2013 Part 1

No Goth clubs in Cebu. No Goth gatherings. No Goth events. No other Goth acquaintances but these old buddies who despite lack the love for Goth music, have an inclination to the dark side of life and art. So what better way to celebrate an important day than to have a tea party together? Oh and minus the sun so we won't burn! ;)

PS: My apologies for the camera quality.

The Mad Tea Party Battle! AKA The Cake War!

Forgive my nose.
E-ehrm, actually it was supposed to be celebrated during the day but Mister Extreme Latecomer here might not had seen any vision of the time-conscious Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland to remind him he had guests waiting! Carren and I waited for almost 8 hours for this lout! He even had the face to come to the tea party without getting well-dressed! How rude!

My nose once again. Sorry.

I hate how many people won't know I'm wearing a corset! </3

Not much time left for more chatter! The night is not such a fine time of day to be out with friends especially if you have the stereotypical Filipino folks. World Goth Day for us this year turned out to be not as happy as how its logo looks so we decided to have a better celebration for it the next week! Click here to take a look-see! :D
